New Bible Study- Living Beyond Yourself Starts Sept 14

We’ll start a new womens online bible study on September 14, 2010 and we’ll be reading Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruits of the Spirit by Beth Moore. This is a 10-week bible study ending the last week of November, then we’ll study the life of Jesus in December. For a list of all scheduled studies, please click here.

About the Workbook

Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruit of The Spirit – Member Book by Beth Moore provides a personal study experience five days a week  of this in-depth women’s Bible study of the fruit of the Holy Spirit as presented in the book of Galatians. Beth walks participants through each trait listed in the fruit and encourages women to know the freedom of a Spirit-filled life. Through this study participants will look at the supernatural aspects of the fruit and that you cannot grow, learn, or produce the fruit on your own. Beth challenges you to develop the fruit by maintaining an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God. A Spirit-filled life truly results in living beyond yourself. (source:

Better late than never! I just found this website and already have the book, so decided to jump in for the last couple of weeks, and then start the Christmas study. I’m from Corpus Christi, Texas and I don’t care much for reality TV, so I have no idea what I would choose.

  • betty says:

I’m new here, My name is betty and I am from VA. Is it too late to join for Beth Moore’s study? – looking forward to learning more.

  • Tammy says:

Hi, my name is Tammy from Paw Paw, Michigan. I know I am very late in signing up, but like many of you, I have a very busy life with two very involved teenagers and I’ve been looking for a bible study I can do online and came across this one! I am very excited to get started! The reality show I would be on would most likely be “The Next Food Network Star” as I love to cook!

  • Alethia says:

    Hey Everybody,
I’m from Maine and have done different Beth Moore studies but never on-line. I know I”m late starting this one but I’ve done it before and hoping to catch up quickly. Looking forward to doing it along with so many other ladies.
Married and have two kids 17 and 13.
If I could be on a reality TV show it would probably be Master Chef or Next Food Network Star or any of the other food related shows. I love to cook and have people in my home.
I’m a pastor’s wife and looking for connection outside of my normal circle–this should be fun! 🙂

  • Mary says:

    Hi ladies,

I’ve done this study before a couple years ago, but I’m looking forward to going through it again — and I’m hoping to catch up quickly. I’m new to online study groups, but I’m hopeful that the environment will be loving and encouraging.

  • suzanne says:

Hi. My name is Suzanne. I live in Southern CA, Orange County. I hope and pray that I will have the computer common sense to know how to participate in this online study. I’m very excited about the possibility. I’m married with 4 children 16,14,13,9. I’ve done this Beth Moore study before and it really impacted my life. Reality show: American Idol – wish I could sing. I was just telling my sister that I sound best when I’m lip syncing. Biggest Loser – I struggle with 30 extra pounds. Amazing Race – love the challenge and travel, but don’t have the street/travel smarts.

  • Andra says:

I would want to be on, “The Biggest Loser.” I have led this study before, but feel that it is a great opportunity to be “LED” through it again.

  • Christine P. says:

Hi! I love the idea of this. I’m still a little confused about how it works but looking forward to being involved in a women’s bible study again. It’s been a while. 😉 I would want to be on Project Runway or So You Think You Can Dance. Even though I really can’t sew or dance, I like to watch others do it!

  • Jaylea AKA Jill says:

Hi Everyone! I’m Jill also know as Jaylea, I answer to both 🙂 I live in California, just north of LA in a beach town. I’m brand new to online Bible Studies, but have been a regular at other Bible Studies. Unfortunately, my schedule is such that I cannot be a part of a regularly meeting study…I travel way too much, so this is perfect! I’m really excited!!! This is probably good for me too cause I’m a real talker, so I can type away and not worry about talking too much 🙂 I’m newly divorced and not sure what to do with all my newly found free time….life is definitely not what I ever expected but God is good!!! And he has a plan for me, I just have to be patient and trust in Him.

My job requires that I spend a lot of time online so I’m on twitter a lot (@jaylea805) and I love to chat…if that wasn’t obvious 🙂 I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of you wonderful ladies! This will be my first Beth Moore study, but I LOVE her!! I’m on her blog and read her devotional, just haven’t had the opportunity to do one of her studies, so I’m super excited!

As for a Reality Show….I don’t know, I don’t watch TV, sorry….I just don’t have time, but if there’s one out there about make-up and making girls feel wonderful about themselves, I’d want to be on that one….as the host. 🙂

  • Clara says:

I hope I am not too late to join this study. I am from Roanoke, TX. I am a mother of two ( a three year old boy and a 10 month old girl). I am also an athletic trainer working full time for a local high school. I work 60+ hours a week in addition to taking care of my family and find it hard to make it to woman’s bible studies. I have never done an online bible study, but this looked very interesting. I desperately need to get back into the Word and get my priorities back in order. I am hoping this study will help me delve into God’s Word and sharing thoughts with other Godly women. As far as reality TV shows go, I couldn’t tell you the last time I got to watch TV. I used to watch Ace of Cakes and always wanted to be able to make great cakes like they do.

  • anna says:

i am anna from melbourne Australia first for me also god bless you christine

  • Karen says:

Hi Everyone!! I am Karen from Indianapolis, Indiana and am very excited about this study!! I am a homeschool mom of 3 now grown children. What a wonderful adventure that was!! I love Jesus with all that I am and am looking forward to getting to know everyone here as we study together!

As for the reality show… I would be on TRAVEL THE ROAD. It is a show about 2 young missionary guys and all the wild adventures they have encountered as they go to the uttermost parts of the world to share Jesus with people who have never heard the gospel. I’ve never seen anything like it! Never a dull moment! Wow!! It airs on TBN on Saturday nights!

  • Lois Hughes says:

Hello all. My name is Lois and I live in Connecticut. I was searching for a local bible study group online and found this site. I think it’s a wonderful idea and I look forward to participating for the first time. I work as an administrator at a busy real estate office and have just completed real estate school. I am about to take my licensing test. I have a 28-year-old son and a 26-year-old daughter. I live with my spouse and our daughter, who came home after graduating college, a yorkie and a tabby cat. I’d love to be on American Idol (and meet Simon, although he’s gone now as a judge) because I always wanted to sing well and perform. However, I have a terrible voice so I guess God had other ideas for me :). Hello Christine and thank your for leading this group.

  • Muz says:

My name is Pamm, but lots of my friends just call me “Muz” (short /u/ sound), a shortened version of my last name. I’ve been married to St. Michael (he got his sainthood the old-fashioned way; he EARNED it by living with ME!) for 32 years, have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandbabes. My ministry is teaching 6th and 7th graders in the public school system, and I am soooooo excited to be trying an on-line Bible study because my crazy schedule makes it hard to plug in to the studies offered at my local church. (And I’ve missed having a structured Bible study in my life.)

I was at a few of Beth’s video tapings for this series at her home church in Houston, but, again, I wasn’t able to finish it because of work hours. I’ve always wanted to go back and do the study from beginning to end, though, because I soooooo need to learn to walk consistently in the Spirit. (For me, consistency is the hard part!) Game on!

Oh, and reality series? Hmmmmm . . . probably Design Star or some other HGTV series where someone comes in and redoes the home office I share with St. Michael!

  • Yvonne says:

Hi folks, I am from Gray,GA and the mother of a busy teenager girl. Interestingly, I searching for an online Bible study this week and this great website came up and after some research I am certain that it is God’s plan that I be involved in this study! If I could be on any reality TV show, it would be “Clean Sweep”. I would so love to empty my home and only add back the things that bring me complete joy!

  • Lisa says:

My name is Lisa DeCandia. I am a full time student, online, working on a Ph.D. I have two beautiful girls, one is 15 and the other is 22. My husband is nearing retirement from a career as an active duty air force member and we are not sure of the changes all of it will bring. I love Beth Moore studies but have never attempted to do one online, even with all of my online education. I am super excited and so sorry for joining this a little bit late. We have three dogs, Maggie, Tripper, and Fred (Fred is a girl but my youngest daughter named her before knowing that, lol). We are currently living in North Carolina, stationed at Pope Army/Airfield. If I could be on any reality television show I think I would be Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. My mother only ever wanted to own her own home growing up and she never has been able to afford it. We are home owners and I understand the costs associated with it all and I watch that show and what people do for others with their limited resources and it makes me cry to see how grateful they are. I love seeing the community come together and rally around with support for families that have been giving for years and had nothing to give.

  • Shaunti says:

My name is Shaunti and i am from Arizona, I just found out about this study so ill be a bit behind, but im excited. This will be my first online study so it should be interesting. I am the mother of 4 year old twin girls and a 1 year old little girl. Umm reality shows…. i dont watch much tv i have netflixs lol so i usually watch movies, but i like traveling so the amazing race might be my cup of tea.

  • Susan Fergsuon says:

Good morning ~ What a blessing to be a part of this bible study. I agree mornings are the best time for study. Also, this sunday the Pastor shared a sermon on “How meditation benefits our daily walk”. Wonderful message!!!

  • karen says:

Hello Ladies! I’m Karen from the Lubbock, TX area. I have a son(21) who works full time and lives at home and daughter almost(17) Jr@Shallowater HS. They keep me pretty busy! I’ve just start my first ‘away from my kids’ job, 8-5 at Texas Tech University. I’ve always been blessed to work in my kids school district so this is a change for me but a blessing none the less. My husband is enduring an extended job search period-going on 16 months now (prayers appreciated!). I did this study on my own about a year ago using Lifeways’online videos and really enjoyed the Spiritual growth. Been feeling kinda stagnant lately and love to join this study. My life is plenty ‘reality’ for me at the moment but if I had to choose (as a non tv watcher, mind you) I guess I’d choose America’s Best Dance Crew or Toddlers in Tiaras. I’ve watched both with my kids enjoying the first and sort of nauseated by the second though there are MANY teaching moments ;o) Look forward to studying with you all, Blessings!

  • Sarah S. says:

My name is Sarah. I live in West Texas. This isn’t my first Beth Moore study, either, but it is my first go at an online study. Curious how I’ll do without face-to-face accountability. May need some help… ‘kay??

Any reality show?? Amazing Race – have always wanted to give that a try, but I don’t know who loves me enough to travel with me through stressful circumstances like that. I don’t think my husband and I should do that together! 🙂

  • Angie Pillars says:

Hi, everyone! My name is Angie & I live in Northeast Texas. I’ve had the privilege of being a stay at home mom for the last year. I have an amazing 2 year old son & have been married to my wonderful husband for 5 years. This is my first Bible study & my first online study. I’ve read several Beth Moore books, but never done any of her studies. I’m looking forward to learn all God has in store during this Bible study!

  • Karrie says:

My name is Karrie. I am looking forward to particpating in the study, I hope to get my book today. looking forward to meeting you all.

  • Rhonda says:

Hi everyone! My name is Rhonda and I am from Ramsey, Minnesota. This will be my first on- line bible study. Nothing like starting on the actual day you started the study, but I’ll catch up. Looking forward to the study.

  • Donita says:

Hi ladies… I’m new at the “bible cafe” and I’m so excited about getting to know you. I’ve longed for a women study group for a long time. I can’t seem to get plugged into a group for some reason. Currently I’m in the last week of “A Heart Like His” from Beth Moore, but so looking forward to “Living Beyond Yourself” with you ladies. I’m from Bremen, Kentucky, mother of one soon to be 19 year old son, wife of a wonderful man whom loves the Lord, and I’ve been a part-time rural mail carrier for going on 10 years now. My reality show would have to be “Dance your a*# off”. I recently borrowed some Zumba DVD’s from a friend and started doing them while my husband is out walking….I’m loving it. It is so much fun. I get so tickled at myself sometimes just imagining what I look like doing these moves…cause ya see, I’ve never danced. I was raised Missionary Baptist and taught dancing isn’t anything but of the devil. Well…now as an adult I want to question if they ever read about David. LOL

  • Deb says:

Hi! I am Deb. I’m excited to give another online study a try. I did it with one of Kelly Minter’s and loved it. Look forward to getting started and learning in this fashion. I hope someday to get the women of my church comfortable with the computer as a study tool as well.

  • Janet says:

I’ve done this study before, but I am looking forward to doing it again. I will be doing it by myself, and I am not very good at the blog portion but will try to keep up.

  • Donna says:

I’m Donna and I live in Lincoln Park, Michigan, metro Detroit area. I am Women’s Ministry Leader at my church. This is the first online bible study I have tried. I think this would be a great way to prepare to teach this to the women of my church. I would like to be on the Biggest Loser, cuz I need it! I know of Beth Moore and seen her on TV on LIfe Today, but have not actually done a study of hers. Looking forward to it.

  • Joan Davis says:

I know it’s the 14th already, but I’ve been meaning to do this, just forgot to sign up.

Reality show? How about the Home Makeover show, or the one where they come in and give you all new landscaping in one weekend.

  • Laura says:

I am from Bullhead City, Arizona… along the Colorado River. I don’t think I have ever watched a reality show from start to finish. Usually we watch Military Channel, Discovery…. But if I HAD to be on one maybe the “Colony” or Man Tracker. Don’t know why, probably because I am weird. More importantly, this is my first online Bible study. I hope I do everything right. Today is the first time I have ever even searched for an online study, and wow it starts today.

  • Nathalie says:

Hi, Nathalie here. I love Beth Moore and her studies. Found you a little late will have to catch up. I am using my work email as I hardly ever get a chance to check my home email. Hope to catch up with you all on my lunch hour. I usually get in some Bible time then. I don’t really have a favorite reality show maybe 19 kids and counting. I would like to meet Mrs. Dugar and sit down for a talk with her. She always seems to be so in control of herself now matter what. Could really use some pointer from her on her self-control and the way she always show the joy, peace and love of God in her life. Glad to find you all and can hardly wait to get started. Have to go find a workbook at my local Bible bookstore. Type at you all soon. Oh, almost forgot I live in Delaware am a product of a 39 year love affair with my husband. We have lived in Germany, Colorado, New Jersey,Maine and Delaware (he was in the Army).

  • Crystal says:

Hi, I’m Crystal from Hickory, NC. I’m 28 and married with 3 kids and working full time. I just found this last night so I’m not sure I can get the material in time but I want to attempt to follow along anyhow.

I dont have cable so I dont really watch much TV but I have always wanted to spend some time with “The Duggars”. I’m so impressed with what God has done in their lives!

Blessings to everyone and lets grow some fruit!

  • Kathy says:

    Hi everybody I’m from Arkansas!
I haven’t been able do a Beth Moore bible study for a year now and i feel like I have lost touch with my BFF. I’m so excited I found this blog.
I don’t want to be on the show but sometimes I feel like I’m on Surviver..
    Can’t wait to start..

  • Karen says:

I am from Fla. I am in Pa. on vacation. I did not bring my workbook. I will catch up when I get back on Sept 24th.
I would be on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Helping people who have real needs. Can’t wait to start.

  • Tay says:

I am Tay. I don’t really have a reality show that I would appear on. Hmm…

  • mary says:

My name is Mary and I am from the Western NY area. First on-line bible study and looking forward to it.

  • Susan says:

My name is Susan and I live in Chesapeake, VA. I did this study a couple of years ago with my daughter-in-law and am looking forward to doing it again to see if my fruit has grown! If I were on a reality show, it would have to be on HGTV- (Design Star)!
Looking forward to doing this study with all of you! I love the graphic of the fruit heart . .. .may all of our hearts be filled with the fruit of the spirit!

  • Lorna says:

Hi – though I’ve been following this site for a couple of months now – “Living Beyond Yourself” will be my first online Bible study to do. I’m from Louisiana, married, and have two boys. My oldest will graduate in May and my youngest has several more years to go. I returned to school in the Spring of 09 to work on my Associate Degree. I blog, loom knit (haven’t in a while due to school), make prayer beads (same issue – have’t made any in a while due to school). Currently, it’s football season around my house which means I transform into a Concession Stand worker.

The “reality tv show” I would like to be on is “Dancing with the Stars.” I can remember wanting to learn to dance as a child but since my dad had already bought the guitar – I choose to go into music (though I never did learn how to play guitar).

  • wendy says:

Hi! My name is Wendy and I am in the Fort Walton Beach, Fl area. I am so thrilled to find this sight! This is so awsome! I love Beth Moore and her studies! She is so addicting! I’ve done two of her studies with women at church and now our group has disbanded 🙁 I am doing a 35 week discipleship course too though so I know I’ll be busy, busy, busy. My husband and I have one 14 yr old son who is busy too!
If I could be on a reality show – I would pick – Biggest Loser minus the public weigh ins and Jillian yelling. Would love the discipline though!
So blessed to find you all!

  • Cheryl says:

I am anxiously looking forward to this study. I am going to do my best to keep up with the study and keep in touch.

  • Kate says:

Hello – my name is Kate and I’m from Charleston, SC. I’ve been in a Bible study group for the past couple years, but I just had a baby! I thought this online study would be easier to do with a little guy!

I don’t think I’d want to be on a TV show, but I enjoy watching 19 Kids and Counting and any kind of cake show.

  • Lauren Fish says:

Hey everyone! I’m Lauren and I just graduated from the University of Colorado and moved to San Francisco. (Sounds like there are a few of us here in the Bay Area!) I started this study with my college woman’s group and didn’t finish it, so this is the perfect chance to complete it! I’m excited to learn all the truths Beth Moore so clearly lays out. I wish I could have been on the MTV show two summers ago “Searching for the new Elle Woods,” as I love to sing and dance! I was addicted to it!

  • Pauline says:

Hello and Good Day. While this is my first online bible study, it is not my first Beth Moore study. I love how Beth has the ability to help me see more than the black and white words before me. She brings a richness to the study that I have grown to greatly apprecaite as it helps me to keep digging and desiring to go deeper in other areas as well.

** I saw that there was over 130 replies, does this mean there are that many of us really doing this study? Is there a way of setting us up into smaller accountability groups? I would be willing to check in with (and would love to have someone check in with me everyso often) and pray for about 10 or 12 women through the study. Or is this already built in someplace? **

    • Christine says:

Welcome. We are working on the small group accountability and also Skype groups. We’ll have about 120 women participating. We keep a list of those in attendance and we have a shepherd to monitor those who are not participating and will reach out to those women and help them stay accountable to their desire for a relationship with God. In a 10-week study its easier for women to become fatigued and want to slip away from the study…so we are watching for this and will be helpful.

  • Cindy says:

Beth Moore has an on-line Bible Study using Living Beyond Yourselves. Would it work to use that with the Bible Cafe Bible study? Thanks.

    • Christine says:

I have done the online Beth Moore version also and the advantage to that format is that you’ll have the videos at a lower price. You login to her site to see the videos rather than downloading them to your computer. It may confuse you to participate in both the Beth Moore online and the Bible Café online so It’s not recommended for ADD type people such as me 😉 For me, its better to have one location for bible study than two. For others, the cost will outweigh the inconvenience of two studies. It’s a huge savings…almost $20.00

I use the workbook and I’m using the CD’s for the series, The videos are excellent- Beth uses sign language, visual aids and you get to see her “Big hair from Africa.” It’s hysterical and you do not see these on the audio or CD sessions. If you want some fun…watch the videos!!!!!! (exclamations are Beth’s early trademark, LOL)

Link for Beth Moore Living Beyond Online study Currently $23.95
Link for Living Beyond Yourself Audio CD’s Currently $39.95
Link for Living Beyond Yourself Video Sessions (11 total) Currently $54.89 for all 11 sessions
Link for Living Beyond Yourself Audio MP3 Sessions (11 total) Currently $43.89

Since this is my THIRD time participating in the Living Beyond Yourself study, I am using the audio CDs and I load them into iTunes and then my iPhone so I can listen in carpool while picking up my kids. Did I mention ADD? 😉

  • Lorna says:

Bought my workbook today – looking forward to this study!

  • Janet says:

Hello, This is my first online bible study. I have done another Beth Moore study. i live in Oregon.

  • Angela says:

This is my first online bible study. I live in Virginia, but I was born and raised in Mississippi. I have two daughters, ages 16 and 9 and have been married for 23 years. I volunteer at my local church in the children’s ministry so I don’t get to attend the adult bible study classes as often as I would like. I thought this would be a great way to participate in a bible study and hopefully be able to complete it from beginning to end.

  • Ellen says:

Hello from the Big Sky state of Montana! I love Beth Moore and will enjoy being in an online Bible study for the first time.

I think the Amazing Race would be fabulous to be on! I am a long-time Christian, married for 40 years with 2 children and 7 grandchildren. My son is a Major in the Air Force in Afghanistan – pray for him!

  • Cheryl B says:

Hello from Orlando FL- I am looking forward to participating in the study. With the day to day events that come upon us, having God’s word within us is crucial.
My reality tv show would be “Amazing Race”. Always Looking Up Cheryl

  • Kristina says:

Hi everyone, I’m Kristina from Missouri. This is my first online bible study, first Beth Moore study and I’m excited and looking forward to it.

  • Anastasia Kovalchuk says:

    Hello Everyone,

My Name is Anastasia Kovalchuk. I live in Sacramento, CA. This will be my first Bible study online, I hope i will be able to do that. Talking about TV show, if I were on a reality show it would probably be some cooking show. I love to cook and make something new from whatever i have in my refrigirator, when i have time off course.

Looking forward to start the study will all of you.

    Blessings to everyone,

  • Stacy says:

This is my first online study and I am very excited. Actually it is my first ever Bible study. I am mom to two young boys ages 5 and 2, and will soon become a work at home mom which I have wanted to be ever since by children were born. I feel like God is the reason that I have been given this opportunity and I am so thankful.

If I could be on any reality tv show I guess it would have to be the next foodnetwork star, I lvoe to cook and it would be so fun to have my own cooking show!

    • Anastasia Kovalchuk says:

Yey, one more “Food Channel” lover…i love watching all these food shows, they help me to create some unbelivable dishes. I thought i would be only one here with first time experience in Bible study.

Welcome Stacy, it’s nice to meet you.

  • Tiffany says:

Hi all, I came across this online bible study through Twitter. I love the loops of technology to bring you to the Lord. I have never done an online study, but I have done Beth Moore’s studies at church & currently over Skype with one of my best friends in another state. Her studies are amazing & I thank God for that. I am excited to get started in this study.

I am from Goshen, Indiana but moved to Fresno, California in March! If I could choose any reality show I think it’d have to be Biggest Loser, not to be a contestant but to be an inspiration to those on the show.

  • Shannon says:

Hello all! I’m in the Memphis, TN area and am sooo excited to do this online study. I love Beth Moore’s teachings! I am a mom to 3 boys (10,10,and 11) and they keep me quite busy with sports and all. If I had to pick a reality show it’d be Biggest Loser. I dont have any weight to lose but really need some motivation to get my behind in the gym! I’m thinking Jillian could help me with that, lol!

  • Amy says:

My name is Amy, I’m in southwest Indiana. I have 3 kids, 16, 16 and 10. I am blessed to be able to work and go to school mostly from home. I am inching closer to a nursing degree. Unfortunately, I was divorced 2 years ago and have since felt uncomfortable attending my church and have fallen away, this study is my first step towards reclaiming my relationship with Christ. My favorite show is Chopped on the Food Network.

    • Muz says:

Amy! I love “this study is my first step towards reclaiming my relationship with Christ.” I will be lifting you up in prayer . . . you go, girlfriend!

  • Jen Hoogendam says:

I am Jen and live in Hamilton, Ontario. I am married to a wonderful man and work as a registered nurse at a local hospital. I recently went to a Beth Moore conference on insecurity and loved it! This is my first online study and am very excited!
Reality show… I love extreme makeover home edition. Cry each and every episode.

  • Brenda says:

Hi,I am Brenda from Colorado Springs, CO. I love Jesus and I am excited to participate in this online study. I have done online studies before but I am new to this site 🙂

As for a reality TV show……I would NOT be on one. I used to enjoy watching Survivor but it seems that television is being overtaken by reality TV programs and most of them are not worth watching. However, I do think it would be fun to be on Game show like Jeopardy 🙂

  • Hi All!

My name is Jen and this is my first online Bible study. We just had our first baby three months ago, so I’m grateful to get involved in a study again, especially with other women of faith.

We haven’t watched TV for a couple years, so I have no idea what’s going on in the world of reality shows, but I do spend much of my free time writing for

    Cheers all!

Oh! Forgot to mention location: Northern Cali 🙂

  • Wanda says:

My name is Wanda and I live in Covington, GA. I am excited about starting this bible study. Regarding a reality show, hmmh I can’t think of one that I would want to be on…although there are a few I enjoy watching!

  • Aimee says:

Hi! I am also new to this. Wondering if this is a daily discussion with daily lessons or once a week?

    • Christine says:

Once a week. We had daily discussions in the past and it was too much work for the women to keep up with. The weekly format has been preferred and does work much better. We meet once a week on Tuesday to discuss the current lesson of the week.

  • Thuy says:

Hi i am so new to this can anyone tell me if there is a specific time we go on to chat on Sept. 14th

    • Christine says:

Because we are in different time zones, we do not meet at a specific time. We will have a blog update each Tuesday with the discussion and summary. Our first week is a launch day and no reading required before this. You’ll see more informational blog posts in the next few days.

  • Amanda Taylor says:

After going back and forth all day and many tweets with Christine I’m finally signing in here to say I’m doing this study. Why did I bat around about it all day? I’m very serious when it comes to what Bible study I do.

I’m in an interesting phase right now where we might be switching churches. So I’m happy that there is this website where I can still be involved in a bible study during our transition.

I love bible studies. My passion is actually doing what you guys are doing on this site with doing online based bible studies. So I’m really excited in participating in this. I’m helping my current church build a structure like this. I have a huge passion for blogging so I help friends of mine build blogs and learn how to connect to the blogging world.

I’m really excited about this particular study I’ve always wanted to study the fruits of the spirit and I LOVE Beth Moore. I just got done doing the Ruth study and hosted that at my home. I also just got to see Beth and served her ministry while she was here in Richmond VA. Looking forward to digging into the Word with you ladies!! Sorry for being so wordy I’m a writer at heart.

    • Christine says:

My goal is to have more women lead online studies. There are numerous women unable to attend church studies, and so they miss out on the benefits of fellowship and growing together. We need to bring the church to the people so they can “Self-feed.”

      • Amanda Taylor says:

I was going to try this one out and talk to you more about this after I finished up this first study. You hit the nail on the head. This blog format fills a need for so many people! I’ve been trying to do this on my own and been praying about being able to find a place to hook in and be able to do this.

Why you may ask? I recently became handicapped at 29 years old and I love woman’s ministry. Oh man here come the tears! I have a passion to touch woman’s hearts and I’m very technical. I own my own business which is a huge blessing doing closed captioning for religious broadcasts. After being on crutches and in a wheelchair for this past year it has made it harder and harder to make it out to small groups and even church. One day God dropped this blogging thing on my heart. That’s when I started meeting with my church leadership. But as you saw in my previous post I’m just not sure because of some stuff that me and my husband are trying to decide that we are going to be staying at that particular church. I know that God dropped this idea in my heart for a reason and I’ve just been continuing to pray and seek His guidance. Every day my passion grows for Bible studies and woman’s ministries. I’m really excited about participating in this study and now you can probably see why I was praying all day about which study to do and not taking the decision lightly.

I can already tell that God has again as He always does shined through and led me in the right direction. Would love to talk to you more about this in the future 🙂

        • Christine says:

You have a voice and you’re young and God can use that for His purpose. My Friend Debbie Alsdorf was disabled for a year in a wheelchair and during that time she was frustrated with God, disappointed in Him, and then yielded to Him. When she yielded, He spoke to her heart. She mentions this in her book, Different Kind of Wild.

          • Amanda Taylor says:

Thanks for the encouragement Christine! To everyone on the outside this should be an awful and hard season of my life and don’t get me wrong there are some really hard days but God is doing some amazing things. He is healing me inside and out not just in my legs. God always goes above and beyond what we expect and I know that when this season is over I’ll be looking back and it will just be astonishing! I’ll have to check that book out. Really getting excited about this fruit study 🙂 ordering my materials and videos tomorrow.

  • Dedie Pope says:

    So excited to begin!

  • Thuy says:

Hello all! For all of those that are trying to figure out my name…It is pronounced (Twee) like tweety bird. I am new to the online study group but I think this will be great!

Fitness is my passion however I have to work hard at keeping myself motivated so I really admire all the people on the Biggest Loser.

  • Jo Wilson says:

Hello, My name is Jo and I’m from Alabama. This will be my first on line Bible study. I found your bible study class thru a blogspot. I’m really looking forward to joining in on a group study. I got my workbook today from our local Lifeway bookstore and can’t wait to start. If I could be on a reality TV show it would be on the next food network star show. I love cooking.

  • Amy says:

Hi, My name is Amy and I am from Michigan. I am looking forward to this study because I really enjoy Beth Moore studies. I am currently doing the Jonah study, but have fallen behind so I am hoping to be able to finish it up this week.
If I could be on a reality TV show it would have to be Dancing with the Stars even though I am not a celebrity, I have always wanted to learn to ballroom dance.

  • Dedie Pope says:

I am very excited to find a Bible study online for women. This will be my first online Bible study and although a bit unfamiliar with how this works (and a little intimidated) I am excited to have a place to go with other women to learn more about my Lord and grow in my faith.

I am a wife to my wonderful husband, mom to six wonderful children, ages 16 to 25, full-time student in the field of human services with an emphasis in mental health, and a flight attendant with a major airline for the past 22 years. This last part is what has hindered my ability to attend women’s Bible study at my church on a regular basis and would explain my excitement at finding this group. I can study on the road. Amen! This is such an answer to prayer. I live in Southern California in an area known as the High Desert.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with any reality t.v. shows.

I am looking forward to participating in the Bible study!

    • Christine says:

Online study is a little different because you can come in your pajamas! Here is a link to the FAQ page. Be sure to post questions as needed.

      • Dedie Pope says:

Thank you! I will read through the FAQs and ask questions. Thank you for being available. I am sure this will be a great experience.

      • Laura says:

First time, doing online Bible study. I read the “new to ” instructions, but would like to confirm a couple of things and ask a question.
This is the “spot” where out study comments go, correct? The e-mail weekly is to be expected Mondays, correct?
I have an iPhone, anyone done online study & post via iPhone, as an option, do you find you cant “format ” mobile to post comments? And is there a way to see the most recent comments first?

I only found the online site on the 14th, book will be to me this weekend.
Really looking forward to Bible study online.

  • Sharon says:

Hello everyone. My name is Sharon and I’m from Idaho. This will be my second online study. Finishing up Jonah. I don’t really watch tv so I can’t pick one. My life is so busy homeschooling my three children.

  • Katy says:

Hi, my name is Katy, and I’m from a small town about 30 miles northeast of Cincinnati, OH. I am 32 weeks pregnant with my first child, who is a boy, and we are going to name him Kaiden Michael. I have tried a couple of Beth Moore studies before, and I love her stuff! However, for one reason or another, I never have completed a full study. I’m looking forward to getting to know you ladies, growing as a Christian, and hopefully finally completing one of her studies!

Oh, as for my reality tv show… it would be a dream for me to be on the Amazing Race. I traveld a bit through Europe in college, and have always wanted to see more of the world, but finances don’t allow it, so it would be awesome to travel around the globe through the cost of a tv network!

    • Lauren says:

I have family in Middletown, Kettering, and Franklin… so I’m guessing that’s not far from where you are. Congratulations on your baby. Love the name!

      • Katy says:

Thanks Lauren! Yes, Middletown is about a 20 minute to 30 minute drive from me. I go up 71 from Cincy and it sounds like your family goes up 75. I live practically in Kings Island’s back yard!

  • Tammy says:

My name is Tammy and I live Grand Rapids MI. I have 5 sons (ages 17 to 9 years old). I homeschool 4 of them. 🙂 I love Beth Moore and am really looking forward to this study.

I can’t think of any reality TV show I would like to be on.

  • Kay says:

Hi! I am from PA, currently attend a UMC church and want to grow more in my Christian faith. I am a special education teacher and a mom of an 11 year old son. I relish both those roles. My newest role is leader of a small group mission at our church. I work with children where I am trying to grow their religious and service development. This will be my first on-line bible study and I am looking forward to it.

  • Nancy says:

I just found out about this and am excited about being a part of this study. I am a wife of a pastor and mother of 3. I teach at a Christian Secondary School. I live in Kansas City, MO. I don’t really know what reality show I’d like to be on. Don’t watch many of them except Extreme Home Makeover. Although I love my home it would be interesting to see what they would create.

  • Katherine says:

I am so glad that I ran across this!! I actually already have this book and have had it for awhile, but only got through the first few lessons.

I am originally from Texas, and am currently serving as a missionary in Beijing, China. I will be in the States beginning on the 13th for furlough, and look forward to this study.

If I had the opportunity to be on a reality show, I would do the Amazing Race.

  • Janet says:

Hi, my name is Janet and I live in Texas. I am a first grade teacher, and I have a teenage daughter. I have never done an online Bible study, but I am really looking forward to it. Reality show – I would love to be on What Not To Wear.

  • Sharon says:

Hi. I am really excited about the upcoming bible study. There are several ladies from Kathy’s salon that will be participating and we are really excited about what God will reveal to us during this study!

  • ashlie says:

Hi, my name is ashlie (known on Twitter as @sundaysbliss). I am 23 years old (I’ll be 24 in 29 days, lol) and I live in the Atlanta area. Not only am I a full-time seminary student, but I also work full-time at a credit union. I have never done a Beth Moore Bible Study, but I have heard so many great things that I thought I’d try one myself (especially inspired to participate by Twitter friend @godswordistruth).

If I could be on any reality show, it would be a toss-up between HGTV’s “DesignStar” and CBS’s “Big Brother”. Big Brother is my favorite reality show, but because of my spirituality I don’t think I’d make good drama for such a show. But I say “DesignStar” because my original major before I went to seminary was interior design & architecture. I love decorating…I’m a very creative gal.

  • Becky says:

Hi all I’m Becky from Indianapolis, IN. I am a fulltime wife and mother who disguises herself as a full time claims adjuster by day.

I’ve been married for 18 wonderful years to my husband. I have two grown sons that came with the husband. We also have a daughter who just started her freshman year of high school.

I’ve read several of Beth Moore’s book and have always wanted to do one of her studies but my schedule would not allow.
I am very excited about having this online option available.

Oh yeah, the reality show for sure “The Biggest Loser” or “What not to wear”

  • Heather says:

Hello, my name is Heather i am in Cinnaminson NJ.. rihgt now i am enjoying my vacation in the beautiful state of Maine you really feel close to God up here. anyway I’m getting a late start but i am looking forward to my 2nd online bible study. My fist one was Ruth and i really enjoyed it. so i am looking forward to this one. I am also going to be co teaching a bible study for the preschool moms at my church so I hope to be learning alot this fall.

  • Stephanie says:

Hi, my name is Stephanie and I am from So Cal. This will be my first on-line bible study, willing to give it a go.

  • Stephanie says:

I am a stay at home wife and mother of two, we share our home with a dog, a hamster, 2 frogs, a snake, and the occasional fish. The kids would like a couple cats and another dog. Also a chicken and a guinea pig. YIKES 🙂

I have been meaning to do a bible study for quite a while, and just attended my first one locally. I enjoyed it and found it very informative, but my schedule is crazy… so, I am thankful for the online version.

If I were to be on a reality show, I think it would be a toss up between the Amazing Race, Family Version; the Best New Artist; or Top Chef. I would love the experience, but don’t think I would win any of them. On second thought, my family are troopers, and a great team, so we might have a chance on the Amazing Race. I wouldn’t last 5 minutes, but I think my husband could TOTALLY take the prize in Survivor, by the way 🙂

  • Jo-Anne says:

Hi All! Very excited to revisit ‘Fruits’ with Beth Moore – I have the book and am ready to git at ‘er! I live in Okotoks, Alberta (just south of Calgary) and am blessed to be married to a wonderful man and have two joyful children (son 13, daughter 12). We homeschool and have always loved this choice for us! My friend & I did the Ruth study together over the summer and LOVED it – we were behind a couple of weeks due to shipping of the books, so was not able to post with the group. This time should be totally in sync with all of you! Thanks Christine for your care of us!
Reality show – enjoyed God’s abundance on Extreme Makeover – Home Edition; stopped watching as I couldn’t bear another week of weeping profusely!!!

  • Jennierae says:

Hello ladies! My name is Jennierae. We just recently relocated from NY to GA! I am a ‘wife’ (not married YET) and a mother of three (boy 9, boy 5 and girl 2). I am a stay-at-home mom. I grew up in church and strayed away several years ago. I allowed my issues with church members to keep me away from God and church, which I should have never done! I have come to a point in life and realize that I can no longer do this alone and I need Him! We just moved, so I have not found a church to attend yet (I should just pick one being that there are a million of them where we live. I feel kind of awkward though because I feel bad leaving God in the first place.

I am a baker. I do cakes from home, so the reality tv show that I would like to be on is Cupcake Wars!

I am really looking forward to this Bible Study and really getting back to God!!! Please keep me in your prayers, as I so desparately need them!

    • Christine says:

We’ve all strayed from God and scripture at some point in life, so you’re in good company. And we found our way “home” through women’s bible study. Welcome!

  • Danielle says:

Hola Senoritas!!! My name is Danielle and I am from Randle, Wa. This is my first real bible study & I am looking forward to it. I really need this in my life right now. I have been married 11yrs in Oct. I have three boys (7,10,12), and two dogs. If I could be on any reality show it would have to be either Amazing Race or Master Chef…I love traveling and cooking. I am super excited to start this with everyone.

  • Meg says:

Hi there. I’m a Wife and Stay Home Mommy of a precious 2 year old in Tucson, Arizona. My friend told me about this during our playdate today… It’s been awhile since I did a Bible Study (almost a year) and (many years) prior to that. I’m looking forward to attending a Bible study (without the hassle of finding a sitter.)

If I could be on a Reality TV show, it would be “Baby Story” because – what could be more AWESOME than a detailed account of your child’s life before they’re even born…. (TTC right now) so of course this is the show I’d want to be on!

  • Jenny DeJong says:

I am a SAHM of a 1 1/2 year old daughter & 4 year old son. Originally from Iowa, currently living in Tucson AZ, moving somewhere (waiting for God to tell us where) later this year. I’m excited about this study to give me a group to study with while our family is in transition. I don’t watch much reality TV, but I think I would like to be on “What Not to Wear,” I would love a new wardrobe!

  • Carin says:

Just got my book today! I am in!

    I live in Northern California….

There are so many reality shows out there. I would like to be on one (if there ever is one) on a wine enthusiast working to be a sommelier.

  • Mary Ann says:

Hi Debbie. I’m a fellow Marylander! Looking forward to seeing how we “live beyond ourselves.”

  • Debbie says:

    Hello Everyone,
My name is Debbie and I live in Maryland. I am excited to do this study with you all. I’ve done other Beth Moore studies and love them. I am married with 3 children, a wonderful son-in-law and just became a grandmother in May!!! If I had to choose a reality show I think I would want to be on a survival show…Not Survivor!!…just to challenge myself in the elements. Look forward to growing with you.

  • Rachel Donelli says:

Hi, my name is Rachel Donelli and I am originally from Southwest Georgia. I currently live in Dothan, AL. My family and I have been her for three years now. We have not moved our membership from our home church. We have been attending a very large church here in Dothan. We really enjoy the church services but because it is so large we find it difficult to get to know anyone and to really get involved. At home in Georgia, I participated in a yearly summer bible study, most of them Beth Moore’s, and I really miss that. I miss sitting around in a room full of women lifting each other up and holding each other accountable. We had some fabulous deep discussions. I also enjoyed journaling my journey as I studied and learned and I love going back and reading my progress. It inspires and encourages me. I am looking forward to beginning this study with you. I don’t really like reality TV. To me it makes the subjects of those shows appear not very flattering in the public eye. I think that they exploit people. I see enough of reality in my own life everyday. If I watch TV, I much rather watch a 30 min. feel good and funny sitcom.

  • Kelley Tramont says:

Good morning! My name is Kelley Tramont and I live in Central Florida. I have been married for 14 years and have two daughters, age 13 and 11. I am a primary school teacher and have been for 22 years. I would love to be on the Amazing Race. Traveling and completing the challenges would be thrilling. I have participated in several Beth Moore studies and they are my absolute favorite. Never participated in an online study but am looking forward to participating!

  • Kim Hood says:

My name is Kim Hood. I live in north central Texas. I have been married for 20 years to a man who is a wonderful husband and father. We have 4 children – ages 23 to 12. I work as an Admin. Assistant at a local bowling center. I have never participated in an online bible study so this is all new to me. I love Beth Moore and have finished several of her studies. Not sure which reality t.v. show I would be on. I really don’t watch much television. I look forward to this bible study with all of you.

  • Becky says:

    Hi girls!!
So excited that I can participate in this on-line study. I love Beth Moore. God seems to always use her to show me things I need to change to deepen my walk with Him. I am a busy wife and mom and busy serving in our local church. Most of our Bible studies are on Wednesday night at our church and one of my passions is Awana which also meets on a Wednesday night. I serve as Cubbies director and love this ministry which actually begins this week, September 1. I am involved on a Sunday morning as well, but recognize my own need for growth so that is why I am here. I love to see God work through prayer. My name is Becky and I am from Easton,Pennsylvania. I would love to be on Survivor to see how I am with my people and physical skills. I look forward to connecting with you girls and get to know each of you, and am ready to see what God will do.

  • Rhonda says:

Hello all!!!! I am Rhonda from Conyers, Ga. This is so neat how God is working because we were talking about the Fruits of the Spirit today in Sunday School. I was given a glimpse of what is hindering my relationship with God or keeping me from bearing fruit. Anyways, if I were on a reality show it would probabley need to be clean house. Although our house is not that messy I am constantly going at it with my husband and his growing collection of, well, junk. My husband must have two or more of one item. Agggggh, lol. I am a new Christian and will be doing this study along with Financial Peace University. I am so excited!!!!

    • Kim Hood says:

You will love Financial Peace University. It is an awesome study!!!

      • Mary Ann says:

I agree 100%, Rhonda! I think everyone should take the Financial Peace University class—I’m not affiliated with it in any way shape or form, but my husband and I went through it a number of years ago. I used that and Crown Mvelopes as my budgeting tool.

    • ashlie says:

Hi Neighbor! I am also in Conyers (small world). My church is also currently hosting a FPU program! Enjoy!

  • Jennifer Deffendall says:

Hi, I’am Jennifer. Live in San Antonio, TX. This will be the third bible study I have done on line. I already have the book and is ready to start. I am in the middle of Jonah, and enjoying it.

  • Vanda says:

Hi, I’m Vanda. We’re currently in Coronado, CA. I have a kindergartener daughter and a 2 yr old son. My all time favourite reality TV show is Amazing Race! I love love love travelling. It is so exciting to go all over the world, see places and accomplish things (at the roadblocks and detours) that you never thought you’d ever do. But I think I’d rather revisit the places that Amazing Race went to and enjoy them at a slower pace than allocated on the show.

  • Keri says:

Hey Everyone, My name is Keri and I live in Hamilton Ontario. I am really looking forward to this study as the material looks fantastic. I am a community mental health worker, a wife, and a mother to a 20month old daughter. I am a busy woman and living beyond myself is a necessity so this study is perfectly timed for my life! It will be awesome to be in community with each of you and as well with my Hamilton sisters :). Like above I would love to be on H.G.T.V especially disaster DIY…only “problem” my hubby knows how to renovate so wont happen 🙂 God Bless each of you and may this study leave non of us the same!

  • Lei says:

    Hello there~

My name is Lei and I am from Texas. I love Beth Moore and read So Long Insecuity while on a beach vacation. If the Lord can work through Beth to make me feel secure on a beach, in a swimsuit……..she is definately annointed. Excited to be a part of the group!

I woud love to be on Design Star….or anything on HGTV!!

  • Kim says:

I am Kim and I live in AL. I am a mom to a 4 year old and a wife to a wonderful man. The only kind of “reality” show that I might like to be on is a cooking-related show.

  • Lisa says:

I’m Lisa from Mississippi. I’m a mom to 3 girls, 15, 13, and 10. I bought the LBY book and even registered for the online study on Lifeway a few years ago…never completed it. I’m hoping I can get through it this time. Can’t let satan hinder me from studying deeper into God’s word anymore.
Can’t say that I would want to be on any reality show. There’s not much “reality” to it left by the time they air it on t.v. and exploiting people for their emotions really isn’t anything I care to watch. Some things should be kept personal. 🙂

    • Mary Ann says:

      Hi Lisa,

I think you’ll find that you’ll be anxious for Tuesday to come so you can see how others’ walk helps them answer the workbook questions. I absolutely love it.

  • kim says:

Kim here in Georgia. I’ll be following along with this study. I’m sure it will be a blast!

    I don’t watch reality TV.

  • Tammy says:

I’m Tammy, mom of 4 and a RN who works weekend night shift. I live in Raleigh NC. I did this study 5 yrs ago but had just had my last baby & I didnt get to finish it. Just found this site and thought now would be the time to finish.
We haven’t had cable for over 5yr so I’m not up on reality TV all that comes to mind is “What not to Wear”.

    • carla says:

Welcome! Had to give a “shout out” since i’m a mom of 4 too! Yay for moms of 4 w/o cable 🙂 This site is great…you’ll most likely want to sign up for the next

  • carla says:

Hi, My name is Carla and i’m from Florida! This is my third online bible study with womens bible cafe…these get addictive! but, at least it’s an addiction to getting closer to God! Not a fan of reality shows…or much of what’s on TV now so we don’t do much watching in my house.

  • Cyndee says:

Hi, my name is Cyndee – I live in Dallas Texas. I am so excited to take this course. I really believe Beth Moore is an anointed teacher – can’t wait to see what God has in store for us all!

If I was on a reality tv show I think the Amazing Race would be fun and a great adventure.

  • Sharon says:

This will be my second study with you all, Jonah being the first. I have gotten so much out of our study of Jonah that I am excited to begin another one next month. Also this will be my first Beth Moore study.

I read many wonderful, thought provoking comments here and they are such a great help.

I am Sharon, live in Fort Worth, Texas. I wouldn’t be on a reality show! I am way tooo shy!

  • Karen says:

Hi – I’m new to Bible Cafe but I’ve done one of Beth Moore’s studies before. I’m looking forward to the online format even though I’m “computer challenged” at times. As far as realty TV, I’d love to have “Extreme Makeover – Home Edition” come to my house!!

  • Darleena says:

I just found this bible study and am very excited about becoming a part. Im going to order the materials.. I think that this will really work for me since I am so very busy and have such a difficult time being a part of bible study..I just want to grow closer to our father and do his wonderful will. As far as reality tv.. hmmm…Im not sure.. havent really watched much reality tv. Actually dont watch tv much at all.. To busy with work.

  • Natalie says:

Hi my name is Natalie. I live in Pittsburgh. I am very excited to do this study. I had joined a small women’s lunch group who was working on this study, but I had joined when they were in the last 1/4 of the book. Loved the little bit I got. That was several years ago so I am looking forward to starting at the beginning and working all the way through the book.

I cannot really say I would be on a live TV show, but I would probably choose “How Do I Look?” since that show lets someone else do all the work and I would just sit back and choose which makeover I want from what someone else did. Guess I am not your typical girl. I hate to shop – I just like to look good. LOL

  • Kristen says:

This is my first Beth Moore study and my first online Bible study – I’m so excited!

I’m a blessed wife and mama to one beautiful little girl. I live just outside NYC and commute into the City for work everyday, which gives me lots of time to read and reflect!

If I had to choose a reality show, I’d either choose “What Not To Wear” or one of the many shows on television that would help me decorate my house.

  • Elizabeth Cansino says:

My name is Elizabeth and mother of 3. I teach 2nd grade in deep South Texas. I am looking foward to the bible study to strengthen my relationship with God. And be on no tv show.

  • Sherri says:

    Hi All,

I am Sherri, mother to 5 children, 2 bonus children and 5 grand babies. It’s been years since I have been able to do a bible study. (my children were just babies) I have never participated in an online bible study group before. Can someone tell me where do I find the bible study book? What days and where to go.
I am really looking forward to sharing with everyone. I don’t watch a lot of reality TV either, HGTV and Homes on Homes and some other shows.

  • Alyssa says:

Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa and I am from Spokane, Washington. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be joining this bible study. This will be my first bible study I have ever participated in and after dealing with many hardships the past couple of years, I feel called to renew my faith in God and Jesus. I believe (and know) that this is the first step to healing. With God, everything is possible. I am looking forward to reading Living Beyond Yourself. It seems as though I found this bible study right when I was meant to–another working of God. 🙂 My friend Chelsie is participating in this study as well (she left a comment above and introduced me to this website) and we both are more than ready to get started! answer the question.

If I could be on any reality television show I would either be on American Idol (I like to sing) or HGTV. 🙂

    God Bless you all!

  • Delia says:

Hi, my name is Delia and i’m originally from Spokane, Washington but i’m currently living in Bluffton, South Carolina for a little while. I’m new to the online bible study and i’m looking forward to grow and live through Gods word. When I was younger I used to attend church all the time but as I have gotten older it has been hard for me to attend church with my work schedules not getting in the way. So now that I have a more flexible work schedule i’m really wanting to get more involved with God.

I would have to say that my favorite reality show is Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and i would love to be on that show one day so that i could help be apart of the amazing teams that work together to help people in need or have gone through hard times. I just think that its so amazing what they do for some of the family’s on that show and would love to have a part in making dreams and wishes for people in time of need.

I look forward to starting this bible study and getting to know all of you!

  • Mary says:

Hi. I am Mary from North Carolina. I am very excited about trying an online Bible study. I haven’t made time to commit to a personal Bible study in too long! 🙁 I have been married to my wonderful husband for 22 years. We have two awesome sons who are 20 and 17. I am a nurse in graduate school and I need this Bible study to feed my soul! I don’t watch a lot of reality shows but I am addicted to HGTV. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

    • Lauren says:

Hey, Mary… I know all about needing to feed your soul… I just finished my MSN last December… seems like all I read was research articles and the APA Manual! What are you specializing in… are you do nurse practitioner? Mine is in nursing education and I love it! Best of luck to you!

  • Renee says:

I am Renee from Texas. I don’t watch anything on TV except a show about touring Europe, so I don’t know much about the reality shows. They might want to make one of a public school teacher though!

  • maria says:

Hi! I am Maria, from sw Indiana. I will be finishing the Bible in 90 days and wanted to try a different study. I agree with all the other posters about the Amazing Race. My hubby and I alway watch it together and talk about what we would do. It amazes me that we almost always agree which task to do or who would do what.

  • Tonya says:

My name is Tonya I am in IL I be here to study with all you ladies.

  • Lil says:

Hello Im Lil living in Los Angeles, well I am living here now I have been out of work for almost a year so Im an LA resident until God willing I get a job. if I don’t I will return to my very small hometown in colorado (pop. 750) by the end of September.Im single and usually work in either entertainment or nonprofit fields running their offices. I completed Ruth here and it was one of my all time favorite studies ever, God is amazing! If I could do any reality show It’s a toss up between Jockeys on Animal Planet I loved that show and would love to ride horses all day. OR the Rachel Zoe Project(She’s a famous celebrity stylist) which may sound shallow, but while fashion isn’t my life focus; I think it would be amazing to see a fancy fashion show in Paris or Milan and play with couture gowns and expensive jewelry my little girl dress up fantasy come to life. Or be Anthony Bourdain on Travel Planet and eat amazing food all over the world. I adore Beth Moore and have done many many studies.

  • Jenny says:

Hello from Illinois. I’m Jenny, a 47 year old single, retired Nanny/Personal Assistant. I’m now a family caregiver. Or as I call myseld, a Family Handmaiden. This will be my first online study. I have done other Beth Moore studies including, Esther, Daniel and Revelation. I’ve had the priviledge of seeing Beth in person twice and have spoken with her. Her teaching is amazing. I’m looking forward to this new adventure!

  • Chelsie says:

Hi there my name is Chelsie, I am married to the love of my life John, we have a 3 year old named Patrick and I am from Spokane, Washington. This is the first online bible study group I have ever tried but I am wanting to learn more of our lord and how he works and I just want to be a better wife and mom and I can show Patrick about him too. With the way my work schedule is I am not able to attend church and interact with other women and ironically i live next door to one but have not gone there since we moved to our house. I just am ready to start a new chapter in my life and this is what I want to do.

My favorite reality show would have to be Dog the Bounty Hunter and Pawn Stars, I also like the housewives of orange county, new york and new jersey but sometimes its a lot of drama and i cant watch it. But most of the time I am on the computer so i dont get to watch that much, I also like HGTV for design star and Food network are my other favs. Man I am writing a lot. Hope to talk to you soon :O) have a great day.

  • Amber says:

Hi everyone! My name is Amber. This is my first time to join an online bible study and I am really looking forward to it. I live in Arkansas. I know several people already said this, but I would definatly choose the Amazing Race. I have always told my husband that if I ever got in really good shape I was going to sign us up!

  • joann says:

my name is joann and i am a single mother of a near 9 year old in PA. i have participated in a couple of beth moore’s studies. this is my first online study and looking forward to it.

  • MaryAnn says:

Hi all, I’m Mary Ann. I’m working on the Jonah study as well. Very much looking forward to this study! It’s become my favorite way to “stay in the Word.”

My husband and I live in Maryland and I have one son, 23. While I’ve work as a manager in payroll and accounting department for 28 years, I’ve always dreamed of being a stand-up comedian. Oh well…maybe God will let my humor shine when I get to heaven!

It’s nice to “meet” everyone. Looking forward to see how we all learn to live beyond ourselves!

    • MaryAnn says:

      OOPS..forgot the “reality tv” part—

I LOVE The Amazing Race, so I think I’d be on that. I wouldn’t win, because I would be too busy taking in the countries we would visit. Also, I no longer fly so it would force me back to flying, hopefully allowing me to go places I’d love to see. But, if I got over the “sight seeing” I think my husband and I would be good at it. He’s a great navigator on foot and I am better in a car. I’m great at puzzles, he is athletic. Yep…The Amazing Race, that’s the one.

  • Kym says:

Hi my name is Kym. I’m married and a mom of four. I have my own business as a photographer in the Atlanta GA area. I can’t wait to start this study. I enjoy Beth Moore’s books and I’m really hungry for more studies in God’s word.

If I could be on any reality show it would be as a judge on Top
    Chef. I’m a serious foodie! 😉

  • Joeanna says:

Hi! I’m Joeanna, Im a single mom in RI. I just finished the Ruth Series and loved it. I am doing Jonah now and can’t wait for Sept. 14th.

If I were on a reality show it would be “Little People”, I love all the adventures they go on and I love how they are such a close knit family.

  • Shari says:

Hi! My name is Shari, and I’m a homeschooling mom to 3 girls in Southern Middle TN. If I were on a reality show I’d hope it were The Real World, so maybe after seeing what life is like with 3 kids, trying to keep it all together, some of these teens would think twice before going too far too fast. Really though, I’d probably end up on World’s Strictest Parents. LOL! Can’t wait to start this study!

  • barbara says:

barbara, stevens point wisconsin, single mom, working full time as office clerk. attending a home church.

tv show. i enjoy the amazing race. the travel and different cultures.

  • Whitney Kregar says:

Hello! My name is Whitney Kregar from a little town called Greensburg in Kansas. I am a recent graduate of Kansas State University and got married June 5th, so I am adjusting to LOTS of changes as a wife. I am just starting my job as a Campus Life director for Youth for Christ and I love it. My community has an older community of church goers so I am trying to use this study to involve younger ladies in the word of God and strengthening the next generation for Christ. I just finished Beth Moore’s first study and loved it. If I were to pick a reality show I would also have to be given some talent and flexibility that I lack…………but I love So You Think You Can Dance, though I know I cannot.

  • Angie Blevins says:

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Angie Blevins from Wilmington, Delaware. This will be my first Beth Moore bible study and I am very excited. I just finished school and took my certification exam and passed! I was in school for Certified Pharmacy Tech. I currently am apart of World Prayr Ministries.

If you could be on any reality television show, which one would you be on and why? I would like to be on animal cops. I love animals and would love to help and get justice for abused animals.

  • Jacki says:

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Jacki and I live in Fairfield, OH, which is a suburb of Cincinnati. I just completed the bible study on the book of Ruth. I loved every minute of it. It is hard for me to open up at times and write a comment. I enjoy reading everyone’s comments. It truly makes me realize that I am not alone and everyone has their own crosses that they are carrying.

I am not much for watching TV. I guess I would be a good candidate for What Not to Wear. At least that is what my twelve year old daughter would say.

I like to work on my bible study in the evening. I find myself excited to sit down with my bible and read the chapter for the day. It helps me to calm myself and feel a touch of peace at the end of a busy day.

    • Christine says:

You’re the third person to talk about the Amazing Race show. I’ve never seen it, my Mom loves it, and now I think its time to “tune-in.” One thing I like about reality TV is that it teaches the concept of failing forward. The reality TV actors make mistakes, show real emotion, face conflict and yet they continue to move forward. Real life equation: try, mistake, move on. While the show ends with just one winner, all the actors become famous for their participation and effort.

  • Victoria Milam says:

Hi! My name is Victoria, I grew up in the Panhandle of TX but have lived in AR for 6 years now. I am have been in Conway AR specifically for about 3 1/2 years now. And I LOVE it here! I work full time as a team assistant for the transportation and logistics team in our company-so, I sit at a desk and manage a bunch of lost men! lol

Reality TV Show that I would be on: What not to wear or something like that;free clothes and tips for style and such.
Amazing Race: would love the challenge and really getting to re-know my husband all over again through the experience. Would be awesome!

  • Jeanette says:

    Hey ladies

My name is Jeanette, I grew up in Waterloo, Ontario and moved to Hamilton for university. I’ve decided to stay here for now because I love it. I am a downtown girl, love being in community with people, I love writing, field hockey, dark chocolate and coffee among other things. I don’t really watch TV… but I love dancing so if I was actually talented I’d go on So You Think You Can Dance. 🙂

  • Lauren says:

Hey, all… I’m Lauren from Kentucky. I am working on the Jonah study and really enjoying it… although this week has been hard because I am a college professor and we are just getting started back to work. If I could be on any reality TV show, it would be the AMazing Race. It’s my “date night” with my hubby on Sunday nights… and it would be wonderful to be able to race around the world! Looking forward to studying how to live beyond me… I get a little too wrapped up in “me” and my imperfections, so I think this will be great to help me see how to let God shine through me! God bless!

    • Kellie Vincent says:

I love the date night idea about The Amazing Race – we both love that show (which is one of the few shows we agree on). Thanks for sharing!

  • Kellie Vincent says:

Hi. My name is Kellie Vincent and I’m from Atlanta, GA. I am brand new to the online bible study, but I am very excited about it. My schedule is crazy like a lot of you, I am a mother to 2 small boys (3 and 2), wife to a busy pilot, and a CPA with a new job. Needless to say God gets me through everything. I am looking forward to this course and growing closer to God through this type of devotion. I also hope I can meet some new online friends through the process. As far as the reality show, I am fully involved with Big Brother right now so that would be my vote. I think it’s neat to see how others react with each other stuck in a house and given a lot of competition – oh yeah with a lot of cameras around to catch all the action.

    • Christine says:

With a busy family schedule, the absolute BEST time to study in in the morning before they wake. Set your alarm, get your coffee or tea drink, and enjoy the alone time and intimacy with God and your bible. If you wait until later in the day, your study will never get done. I know from experience…though now my girls are age 9 and 12.

      • Kellie Vincent says:

That is such a wonderful idea. You’re right at the end of the day the last thing I want to do is look at a computer screen 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

      • Muz says:

I totally agree! This school year, I’ve been choosing to get up before the crack of dawn just so I can have my coffee with Papa-God, Bible, journal, and trusty pen. In my profession (teaching), the last thing I want to do is show up to face sixth and seventh graders without having spent time getting fortified!

        • Christine says:

I have a 7th grade daughter and one of the reasons I created this online study is for teachers. I noticed her teachers were unable to attend church small groups because of their busy schedules, yet they missed out on interaction with other Christian women. The teachers are surrounded by the next generation of Christian leaders, our children, and we need to bring the teachers into fellowship with other bible study women.

I believe there are four teachers in this study and I was just praying for them this morning.”Lord, please fill the heart and mind of this teacher, allow your Word to flow into (name)’s heart and into her classroom. In Jesus name, amen.”

      • Muz says:

I feel the same way. This school year (I teach), I’ve been choosing to get up before the crack of dawn just so that I can do exactly what you described . . . coffee with Papa-God, and my Bible . . . the last thing I need to do on my job is show up without having spent time with Papa! (I teach 6th and 7th graders. ‘Nuff said!)

    • ashlie says:

Hi Kellie, I am also a GA resident! I stopped watching BB10 when they booted “Brachel” (Brenden and Rachel), lol! Enjoy!

      • Kellie says:

Hi Ashlie. Brachel was something else huh? It has been a little dull since they’ve been gone. What part of GA are you from? We live in Dallas which is right outside of Atlanta.

  • Melissa says:

Hi, Melissa from Sydney, Australia. I have been doing BethMoore studies
for many years – her teaching has changed my life! I would
love to be on The Secret Millionaire – the feeling of giving
away lots of money to unsuspecting people in need would
surely be the best! Masterchef too as I enjoy cooking!
    Blessings from Oz

  • Sue Schwendemann says:

    Hello everyone:
My name is Susan and I live in Terre Haute, IN about 75+ miles southeast from Indianapolis, IN. I am currently doing the Jonah study with my sister online. We will both be doing the Beth Moore study in Sept.(she lives 95+ miles away in Greenwood, IN.) And the reality show I like to be on is…. Survivor, this has to do something with eating dirt out of a spoon as a kid maybe? Blessing to all. Hoping to get to know all of you.

  • Jeanne Heinrichs says:

Christine, I also live about an hour from SF (San Jose). Hmmmm…..could we be neighbors? I started this course in 2007 at church but never finished it. I am hoping that I can actually complete it this time around. I have no desire what so ever to be on any reality show, sorry. Life gives me enough of a challenge without getting involved with those shows. I am an assistant/receptionist for a CPA. I am also an artist in training, taking an online art class. I am married (33 years), we have 5 children between us, 14 grandchildren (#15 on its way) and one great grandchild. Our goal is to retire in Texas where half of the grandchildren live. I am looking forward to doing this Bible Study. Beth Moore is a wonderful teacher of the Bible.

  • Tina says:

    Hello Ladies
My name is Tina. I live in Port Saint Lucie, FL I am stay at home wife, no kids and I have four cats.
I have done other Beth Moore studies and they are great!! I am looking for ward to the new study, this is coming at a right time in my life.
Hmm a reality tv show I would be and why….I would have to say Survivor…To not only challenge myself but to show how BIG GOD is,,,With GOD all things are possible!!
Look forward to getting to know you, many blessings,

  • Dana says:

Howdy women! My name is Dana and this is the first on-line study I’ve ever done! Actually, it’s the first group study I’ve ever done and I am very much looking forward to it. I live in Hamilton, Ontario Canada and I love it. I’m a full time Social Service Worker, (in the field of mental health and addictions), part time University student, recovering addict and a new Christian (although I grew up in a very Christian household). Looking forward to this!

  • Jamie says:

My name is Jamie. I have this workbook at home. YEARS ago, I bought it and went to one class at a church that I don’t even go to anymore. I didn’t “get” Beth Moore then… Interestingly, a couple years ago I tried her out again and fell in love with her teaching style. She makes me hungry for more of Gods’ Word! I struggle with finding Bible studies in my area that I can attend. So, I am anxious to try this method online. Timing couldn’t be more perfect because I’ll be out of town the first of September but get back on September 13th. Oh, and I live in Texas. I am the mother to two teenagers, a weiner dog, and two cats 🙂 I work full-time as a social worker (I do in home services with children and families with a faith based organization). And the reality show I want to be on….don’t laugh….is “How to Look Good Naked”…I don’t think it is on the air anymore, and it wasn’t x-rated or anything. It helped women develop a healthy body image….

  • Christine says:

My name is Christine and I will be leading this study. This will be my second time studying Living Beyond. I’m from California, about 1 hour from San Francisco. I’d want to be on the Project Runway show because I’m creative and I enjoy fashion. Shark Tank and Celebrity Apprentice would be close contenders for my television presence 😉 You’d never find me on Survivor…I’m not fond of dirty hair and eating bugs.

    • Meg says:

Are you in the San Jose area? 😀

    • Michele says:

Hello everyone, I’m a little late but hope to catch up quickly. I live in North Carolina, closer to the beach than the mountains, but both are only a short drive away. I’d want to be on American Idol because I love music and love to sing….but I’d only make it to the first round of shows (you know the ones where they show the really bad singers so people will tune in and laugh). Anyway, I’m excited about delving into this study and “meeting” everyone.

      • Muz says:

My mom lives in the New Bern area — gorgeous part of the country! I was born in NC, so I like to say, “NC . . . birthplace of Billy Graham and Muz!” Lol!
