Gods at War, Defeating the Idols that Battle For Your Heart, Book Review

Gods at War: Defeating the Idols that Battle for Your Heart
by Kyle Idleman

godsatwarYou can’t go wrong when you read a book about idolatry, since it’s one of the biggest temptations in the life of a Christian today. So I was delighted with the book Gods at War: Defeating the Idols that Battle for Your Heart by Kyle Idleman as it covered many aspects of modern idolatry.

When I first started reading the book I was not captivated with the content, however knowing from past experience that Kyle Idleman is a great author I continued reading and fell into a rhythm of understanding. Soon I was highlighting and writing notes in my Kindle…and contemplating the idols within. The book is divided topics such as the temple of pleasure, temple of power, and temple of love. Within those units you’ll find the gods of food, sex, entertainment, success, money, achievement, romance, family and the “god of me.” Have I captured your attention?

If you want to identify the own idols and false gods hidden in your life, then grab a copy of this book. Keep reading until you get to the section on temples…and enjoy the book!
