Moving right along with our exciting online Bible study, welcome back as we study David: Seeking a Heart Like His by Beth Moore! We found in Week Two; King Saul’s uncontrolled jealous rages and the steadfast love Jonathan continued to show towards David.

Jealousy as it relates to the realm of King Saul’s heart should be a highlighted reminder that it cannot accomplish any good thing.  When we recognize special gifts & talents in our family members, friends, or acquaintances; this is not the time to try to measure our gifts/talents against theirs.

Jealousy will prevent us from recognizing the blessings God has graciously placed in our lives.  It will rob us of our joy and peace.  People who consider you a threat will also consider your God-given talents and abilities as a threat to their personal goals and plans.

Be thankful to God for the gifts and talents you see in others.  Never loose sight of the gifts that God has placed on the inside of others or yourself.  As we spend more time being thankful and offering praise to God for allowing us to bring glory to His name, the more we are able to empower people to do the same for others.

I pray that as we continue to grow in our spiritual journey with God, we will choose to allow Him to check & bridle the negative emotions the enemy tries to get us to buy into.  You see, as children of the Most High God, those types of emotions do not belong to us.  Only the emotions that encourage us to extend the fruits of the Spirit, are ours because we choose to except what God has offered…Jesus Christ as Savior!

I pray this closing Scripture will bless your heart as it did mine.  In 1 Peter 4:8-10 we read, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
