Welcome to another online Bible Study at the Women’s Bible Cafe™ as we facilitate The Patriarchs by Beth Moore! We’re excited to begin this 11-week study with women from around the world.  As we begin this study our leaders are praying that you’ll have a deeper relationship with God through this fascinating study. May you encounter the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through the pages of Scripture. The #1 goal of Bible study is to develop a deeper understanding of God and His Word- let’s do this together, starting today!

We’ll be using Beth Moore’s The Patriarchs for this study. Each personal lesson should take about 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Inside the front cover of your book you’ll find the genealogy of Abraham and inside the back cover you’ll see a map of the lands involved in The Patriarchs story.  The study book is available at

The Patriarchs video and audio sessions are available for download from and optional for online study. These extra resources will enhance your understanding as Beth Moore expands the teaching lessons. Please download the Answers to the Video Sessions from our private Facebook group (look under files tab) or the Lifeway website (look under leaders kit, scroll down to free downloads).

For this study we will assign prayer partners if you’d like one. These partners will be women from your Facebook small group and the purpose is to be committed to interceding with prayer. You’ll pray for your partner to overcome the challenges of Bible study and to stay on track each day.

For safety with prayer partners, you’ll use Facebook private message and NOT your cell phones or emails. We’ll have the partners assigned and listed in our Week One chats. You’ll need to accept/send a friend request to the prayer partner in order to use the Facebook messaging system.

Create a daily appointment with God, and don’t let anything pull you away from intimacy with Him. A good plan is to read the same time each day, Monday through Friday, allowing the weekend to make up any lesson you missed during the week. Keep your study time simple and free from distractions.  You may find that keeping everything you need in one place will help you stay motivated.  I have a basket with my Bible, workbook, journal, pens, highlighters, reading glasses and post it notes.

If you don’t own a Bible, or you like to read in multiple Bible translations (NIV, ESV, NLT, HCSB, NKJV, etc) use one of the many online Bibles or apps such as or Challenge yourself to research three verses from this week’s study using different translations. Memorize one of those three verses you selected.

  • Join our private Facebook group and participate in a small group discussion this week
  • Complete your workbook study of Week One
  • Optional: Video/audio Session One

Let’s journey together….
